With the development of science and technology and people's pursuit of high quality, many measurement and control systems require higher precision, such as radio, digital image acquisition, etc. Therefore, choosing a suitable A/D converter is the key to realizing the design application requirements. According to different working principles, ADC can be divided into indirect ADC and direct ADC. The indirect ADC converts the input analog voltage into time or frequency, and then converts these intermediate quantities into digital quantities. While the direct ADC is directly converted to digital.

An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) converts an analog signal to a digital signal for data processing. Since the analog-to-digital conversion function is provided by the sigma-delta architecture, it makes the part more immune to noisy environments, making it ideal for sensor measurements as well as industrial and process control applications. Applications include communications, energy, medical, instrumentation and measurement, motor and power control, industrial automation, and aerospace/defense.

AD7794BRUZ-REEL AD

AD7794 is low power, low noise, complete analog front ends for high precision measurement applications. With a maximum current of 400uA, it is a low noise programmable gain instrumentation amplifier that can directly input small signals to the ADC. It belongs to the analog-to-digital converter of sigma-delta modulation and is used in narrow-band and high-resolution applications.

In instrumentation applications, the use of AD7794 can effectively reduce the design workload and save many peripheral devices. It integrates a 24-bit ADC with six differential sensing channels for applications requiring more channels. Using 2.7V-5.25V single power supply, the full power consumption current is only 400uA, and the noise is only 40nVrms. The sampling rate can be programmed from 4.17Hz to 470Hz. Compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, DSP.

The AD7794's low-noise instrumentation amplifier can operate in chopper mode, where the chopper is an inline component that eliminates errors due to drift. The common-mode voltage ((AIN(+) + AIN(−))/2) must be greater than or equal to 0.5 V when chop is enabled.
