In addition to the compact form factor, this series adopts leading technology in performance and improves system efficiency. It will set new benchmarks in power density, current capability and chip durability. The OptiMOS family reduces switching losses and improves safe operating area (SOA) robustness and avalanche current capability. This facilitates the design of future high-efficiency automotive applications, especially providing excellent efficiency and power in a compact design. In addition, it improves cooling and reduces system cost.
Axel Hahn, Senior Vice President of the Automotive MOSFET Product Line at Infineon Technologies, said: These semiconductor devices offer outstanding power density and energy efficiency while offering the industry's lowest on-resistance.
The OptiMOS 7 series is ideal for future automotive 40V MOSFET applications including electric power steering, braking systems, disconnect switches and new domain architectures. Its applications also include battery management, electronic fuse boxes, and DC-DC and BLDC drivers.
