STMicroelectronics and its Authorized Partner Sensory Inc have announced a collaboration agreement to empower the STM32 microcontroller (MCUs) user community to develop and prototype intuitive voice recognition user interfaces and product prototypes for a variety of intelligent embedded products. Cooperation plays an important role in improving the accuracy of voice control and shortening the time of command recognition.
Sensory Inc is the world's top embedded voice recognition technology provider, the combination of STM32 software and hardware and Sensory voice control technology, will accelerate the development process of embedded voice user interface, simplify the development of wearable devices, the Internet of things and smart home products voice control user interface.
Intuitive voice-based user interfaces
Among, the new VoiceHub online portal supports the use of custom wake words, voice-controlled command sets, and large natural language syntax, allowing developers to easily and quickly create custom embedded speech recognition models that recognize nearly two dozen languages and dialects.
The solution is based on the STM32Cube software extension pack and runs on a high-performance STM32H7 MCU, taking advantage of its system architecture, large internal flash memory, SRAM, and fast CPU speed. Storing voice applications and voice models in high-performance STM32 MCUs' large capacity on-chip memory improves system integration and ease of use while reducing the cost of ownership for users.
This hardware/software solution allows the STM32 user community to deploy edge voice AI without any software programming, data science, or machine learning expertise. The software is free to use in prototypes and is available under preferential license terms in mass production.
“This world-class collaboration with ST creates a complete software, hardware, and licensing package for embedded speech recognition across the STM32 family and makes adding Voice UIs, simple.” said Todd Mozer, CEO, Sensory.
